Man admits string of charges involving child sex abuse

A pervert who tried to sexually communicate with a child has pleaded guilty at court.

Thomas Bowden also admitted a string of offences after he was caught with images of child sexual abuse.

The 28-year-old of Oxford Road, Banbury appeared at Oxford Crown Court on Wednesday.

At that hearing he admitted a string of child sex offences.

He pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images of children.

Bowden admitted to having 52 images of the most severe category – A, as well as 22 images in category B and 47 in category C.

He further pleaded guilty to possession of a prohibited image of a child.

Those offences were all committed on or before June 13 2018.

He also admitted to breaching a previously imposed sexual harm prevention order, whereby on December 6 2017 he deleted internet history, and also deleted apps from a mobile phone on April 16 last year.

Those breaches were in contravention of an order which was made at Oxford Crown Court on April 4 2016.

Lastly, he pleaded guilty to one count of being an adult attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child on January 21 last year.

After the guilty pleas had been entered to the offences his defence team asked to adjourn sentencing while reports are prepared on Bowden.

The case was adjourned and Bowden will appear again at the same court on October 14.

Presiding Judge Michael Gledhill QC warned Bowden that ‘all sentencing options remain open.’
