South Yorkshire sex offender failed to notify police before going on holiday to Spain
A registered sex-offender failed to notify South Yorkshire Police before he went on holiday to Spain.
Sheffield Magistrates’ Court heard on September 18 how Simon Nicholls, aged 48, of All Saints Meadows, Laughton Common, Rotherham, admitted failing to comply with registration requirements in October, 2019 as an offender under the Sexual Offences Act by failing to register his intention to travel outside the UK.
Nicholls also admitted failing to comply with notification requirements by failing to complete his annual registration with police in October and he admitted failing to notify police of a new passport in March, 2019.
Emily King, prosecuting, said police received notification on October 18, 2019, Nicholls was in Spain but this should have been completed before he left the UK.
Magistrates adjourned the case until November 13 to consider a probation service report.
