Pervert admits he was ‘aroused’ over vile child abuse pictures
A pervert who admitted he was ‘aroused’ over vile child abuse pictures avoided jail after owning up to his secret obsession
Derek Brown, 54, was busted by police with nearly 100 horrific images of children – some aged as young as two – being subjected to sex acts.
Brown, appearing at Portsmouth Crown Court, had attempted to cover-up his actions by using special software to conceal his collection of images.
In total Brown, of Parklands Close, Gosport, was found with 19 category A images – the most extreme level – as well as 29 category B images and 48 category C images.
Brown admitted five charges of possessing indecent images of children during his sentencing hearing – with his offending spanning nearly two and a half years from November 2016 to February 2019.
Brown was caught out sending images on adult chatroom Kick before police searched his address and found images on his laptop and iPhone resulting in his arrest.
Prosecutor Edward Warren said: ‘He accepts he sent images and said he was aroused by them.’
Judge David Melville QC told Brown: ‘These are awful offences. These children are seriously abused for these pictures to be taken.’
He added: ‘If you had fought the charges I would have sent you straight to jail.’
But judge Melville instead imposed a one year jail term suspended for two years, told Brown to pay a £1,000 fine and £420 costs.
He was also made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
