A pervert has been jailed after he was caught and exposed by paedophile hunters.
Richard Glancy of Coventry appeared at Crown Court where he was sentenced for a number of online child grooming offences
The court was told that Glancy added who he believed was a 14-year-old girl on Facebook.
Glancy sent highly sexualized messages to the girl. In one message he told her that he wanted to have a bath with her, and engage her in sexual intercourse.
The pervert arranged to meet the girl in a park. However, the child did not exist and was actually an adult member of a paedophile hunting team.
Two paedophile hunting teams ‘Ghosts’ and ‘Our Team’ arrived at the park and waited for Glancy to arrive. When he did, the teams confronted him and asked him a series of questions about his perverted internet activity.
The teams rang the police who arrested Glancy.
It was later discovered that Glancy had infact been online grooming various children for over a year.
The judge sentenced Glancy to three years and eight months imprisonment
Glancy was told to register as a sex offender for ten years and that he would be given a sexual harm prevention order for ten years.
He was also told to complete a sex offender rehabilitation programme
