Paedophile with 1,000 abuse images in Rayleigh lost his home and job

A paedophile who was found with more than 1,000 child abuse images lost his home, job and relationship.

Christopher Lamb was caught with the images on his electrical devices when police raided his former home in Rayleigh last year.

In April, Lamb was arrested and various electronic items were seized.

Over the course of the police’s analysis, the 35-year-old’s devices were found to have 1,009 indecent images of children, with a mixture of Category A, B and C images.

Lamb, a construction worker, was later charged and went on to admit three counts of making indecent images of children and was sentenced at Basildon Crown Court yesterday.

Judge Samantha Cohen told Lamb: “Over the course of about a year leading up to April 2019 you became increasingly compulsive and obsessive about viewing images of abuse.

“At the time you did it, you inexplicably seem not to accept that since what you were looking at was child abuse of the most depraved kind.

“It seems you indicated you are doing your best, but you have not entirely come to the realisation that you yourself have feelings of sexual arousal when faced with images of child sexual abuse.

“Following your arrest you lost your relationship, your home and you lost your job.”

The court was told Lamb has found new employment and now resides in Ashford Road, Maidstone, Kent.

Judge Cohen gave him a three year community order with 150 hours unpaid work and 50 days rehabilitation.

He must also pay costs of £800 within six months of his sentencing hearing.
