A man who committed 14 rapes has been handed a 28-year extended sentence for his ‘thoroughly wicked’ crimes
Phillip Turner had been convicted by a jury of the rapes, plus an offence of incitement to commit a serious sexual offence
His victims were two females and a boy.
Preston Crown Court heard that his offending had a profound effect on them,driving the boy to multiple suicide attempts
Turner, 58 of Thornton was sentenced to 23 years in prison, with five years extended licence to follow
He must serve at least two thirds of his sentenced before beinhg considered for possible parole will be only be released if the board are satisfied he no longer poses a danger
