Pervert showed ’14-year-old’ his naked body while on video chat
A pervert from Wallasey who showed a ’14-year-old girl’ his naked body as he conducted a video chat was spared jail.
Richard Murray thought he had been sending obscene messages to a child, but was in fact snared by multiple paedophile hunter groups.
The 52-year-old even told the ‘girl’ to “be careful” on websites as “people do naughty things”.
Murray appeared at Liverpool Crown Court today after being charged with three counts of attempting to engage a in sexual communication with a child.
Trevor Parry-Jones, prosecuting, explained the charges all date between June and October in 2019.
Mr Parry-Jones said: “The defendant was discovered by a number of voluntary proactive groups that seek to identify, online, people who seek out and communicate with children for the purpose of sexual gratification.”
He explained on August 27, 2019, a woman was posing as a 14-year-old girl on Facebook called Jade and “engaged in Facebook chats with the defendant”.
Mr Parry-Jones explained to begin with they asked how each other were before the conversation became a “more dubious” when Murray, learning the ‘girl’s’ age, said “Well you won’t like what I like doing”.
Mr Parry-Jones said: “She didn’t reply to that and on August 27 she said ‘I like dancing and shopping.'”
When sent pictures of ‘Jade’, Murray said she was a “good looking girl” but told her not to look at him as he was “getting into the bath and had a big thing”.
Mr Parry-Jones said: “He told her to be careful on these sites as people do naughty things.”
When asked what he meant Murray told the ‘girl’ “s***ing”.
On September 7 Murray requested photos of the child and “told her he was naked and in the bath”.
He had a similar discussion on a different day and said he “liked playing with boobs and liked to play with p*****s”.
Murray video called the ‘girl’ on September 20, and Mr Parry-Jones explained that the four minute video began with Murray topless before he moved the camera to his naked genitals.
The pervert was identified by other paedophile hunter groups after sending explicit messages to other decoy profiles.
The groups were able to then identify Murray from his phone number and he was subsequently arrested and charged.
Murray, of Bisley Street, Wallasey, has no previous convictions.
Murray was handed a 6 months in prison suspended for 18 months and must complete 20 Rehabilitation Activity Requirements.
He was ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for 10 years and handed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for 10 years.
