Plymouth man offered schoolgirl gifts and money to perform sex acts

A pervert has been jailed for grooming a schoolgirl into performing sex acts.

Logan Peachey, aged 23, offered the vulnerable schoolgirl gifts and money so he could exploit her over the course of a year.

He also arranged to meet her for sex

A judge has now jailed him for three years after he was convicted during a trial.

Judge James Townsend said: “At the time of the offending your victim was only 14, and the activity between you was graphically set out in text messages during the trial.

“She was vulnerable not only by her age and because she was going through adolescence but because her mental health was not good at that time.

“Your persisted in pressuring her to engage in sexual activity, offering gifts and money over a long period and, given her age, that was serious offending.”

Jason Beal, for the Crown Prosecution Service, said that the girl had not taken part in the prosecution. He added she had not spoken of the impact of the offending to police.

Peachey, of King Street, Stonehouse, had pleaded not guilty to inciting a girl aged 14 or 15 into sexual activity

He also denied arranging to meet her for sex following grooming in May 2017.

But a jury found him guilty on all five counts by unanimous verdicts after a four-day trial just before Christmas.

Judge Townsend told Peachey he must sign the Sex Offender Register for life and imposed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for five years.
