Doncaster pervert admits attempted child sex offences

A pervert has admitted attempting to meet and incite a child into sexual activity as well as admitting attempting to arrange child sex offences.

Sheffield Crown Court heard on January 12 how Dale Ruff, aged 35, of Warmsworth Road, Doncaster, pleaded guilty to six offences committed between November 1 and November 7, 2020.

They included:- attempting to communicate sexually with a child; attempting to meet a child following sexual grooming; attempting to incite a child into sexual activity by urging them to send images; and three counts of attempting to arrange the commission of a child sex offence.

Judge Michael Slater adjourned the case until February 22 to allow for the consideration of a pre-sentence probation report before sentencing and he remanded Ruff into custody.

He told Ruff: “Dale Ruff, you have pleaded guilty to these offences. The next stage in the process is for you to be sentenced for them. All things being equal that will take place on February 22 with a time estimate of 45 minutes.

“I am adjourning your case for a pre-sentence report so the court can have as much information about you and how these offences came to be committed.

“It’s important you co-operate with the probation service because you will only get one opportunity I suspect.”

“In the meantime, you are remanded you in custody.”
