‘Paedophile’ who downloaded 1,092 indecent images of children avoids jail

‘Paedophile’ Adam Hollinshead downloaded 1,092 indecent images of children.

The 35-year-old was arrested after police executed a warrant at his home and seized two laptops and his phone.

The devices were analysed and police found:

  • 363 still images and 11 movies at category A – the most serious;

    233 still images and two movies at category B;

    508 still images at category C;

    Eight extreme pornographic images involving adults having sex with animals.

Now Hollinshead has been handed a two year community order at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.

The defendant’s home – in Lockwood Street, Newcastle – was searched at 7am on October 22, 2019.

Prosecutor Ian Ball said: “A laptop under the bed was seized. An iPhone and another laptop were seized from a coffee table.”

As well as the indecent images, messages were found in which another man fantasised about raping underage boys.

Mr Ball added: “They were egging each other on, the other man saying he could see a child but could not approach because the parent was present.

“The children being abused in the images included babies aged six months to 12 months old and children aged six to eight.”

Judge Fletcher said he could have sent Hollinshead to prison – but it was more important to rehabilitate him.

Hollinshead was made the subject of a five year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for the same period. He was ordered to pay £340 costs.
