21-year-old Cambridge man caught with ‘paedophile manual’ and 15,000 indecent images of children

A 21-year-old man from Cambridge caught with a disturbing haul of indecent images of children and an extensive ‘paedophile manual’ on how to groom and abuse kids has been sentenced.

Police officers armed with a warrant raided Brandon Lynch’s home in Mill Road on May 24, 2019 after receiving intelligence that illegal content was being downloaded from the property.

They seized five electrical items and seven mobile phones – and what they found shocked them.

There were 15,260 indecent images and videos of children on the devices, including 4,528 classed as category A – the most severe showing the rape or torture of children

A further 456 images or videos were identified that were classed as either prohibited, extreme or indicative of a sexual interest in children.

And they found a 170-page ‘paedophile manual’ on Lynch’s external hard drive. The manual gave advice and guidance on abusing children.

It was described in court as a paedophile’s manual and intended to teach the viewer about “using children sexually”.

When voluntarily interviewed about the content, he replied “no comment” to all questions.

He was charged and later admitted three counts of making indecent images of children, possessing a prohibited image of a child, possessing a paedophile manual and three counts of possessing extreme pornographic images.

At Cambridge Crown Court today (January 13), he was sentenced to 16 months in prison, suspended for two years.

He was also given a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for 10 years, placed on the Sex Offenders Register for 10 years and ordered to complete 50 days of rehabilitation activity requirement.
