Stoke-on-Trent mechanic downloads 168,381 indecent images of children

Pervert mechanic Andrew Hillman has been jailed – after downloading 168,381 indecent images of children.

The 50-year-old downloaded the sick images on eight separate devices. They showed young children, including babies, being sexually abused and tortured.

Now Hillman has been jailed for nine months at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.

A search warrant was executed at the defendant’s home on February 26, 2019.

Prosecutor Ben Williams said: “The defendant was interviewed on the same day and answered ‘no comment’ to all questions. He was interviewed again on January 7, 2020 regarding the results of the forensic examinations of the devices and he again answered ‘no comment’ to all of the questions.”

Police recovered:

  • 5,618 indecent images at category A – the most serious;

  • 7,096 at category B;

  • 155,667 at category C;

  • Plus 2,501 extreme pornographic images.

Mr Williams added: “The images are disgusting and horrific.”

Hillman, of Wheatfields, Bradeley, pleaded guilty to three offences of downloading indecent images of children between October 14, 2018 and February 26, 2019, and possessing extreme pornographic images.

The court was told that his wife stands by him emotionally

 Judge Paul Glenn handed Hillman a five-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order to protect the public and he will also be on the Sex Offenders Register for 10 years.

He is barred from a range of activities involving children and vulnerable adults.
