Hull paedophile’s five words to police unveiled vile video collection after chats with underage girl
A 34-year-old man posed as a teenager in order to persuade an underage girl to send him indecent pictures of herself.
Liam Tripp became addicted to child abuse images and downloaded thousands before his arrest in April last year.
When Humberside Police attended the dad-of-one’s home on April 17 last year, they seized items which contained nearly 700 indecent images of children at category A – the worst kind – 1,000 at category B and 2,500 at category C, Hull Crown Court heard on Monday.
He was also found to be in possession of 181 of prohibited images.
As he was arrested Tripp said: “I knew this was coming.
“I hate myself for it. It’s me you want, and my phone is what you’re after. I hate myself.”
Despite still being under investigation, Tripp was not deterred and later downloaded thousands more indecent images, Nigel Clive, prosecuting told the court.
Mr Clive told how Tripp went on to download nearly 1,000 more images at category A, nearly 1,000 at category B and another 2,500 at category C.
The court heard how Tripp turned his attention to an underage girl.
Judge David Tremberg said: “These were committed before the first arrest.
“Having discovered that she had posted indecent images of herself online you managed to transfer those images to your phone and mess about with them for your own sexual gratification.
“You went on to encourage her to produce further images of indecent images of herself and you encouraged her to distribute them.”
The court heard Tripp posed as a teenage boy in order to persuade the girl – who was under the age of 13 at the time – to send over more indecent images.
Judge Tremberg said: “It is unbelievable that you would behave like that.”
Tripp also appeared to be sentenced for indecent assault of a child under the age of 13.
Judge David Tremberg sentenced Tripp to 36 months in prison and told him: “This is a troubling case. In recent years you have developed an addiction to viewing pornography of children and you have a particular interest in pre-pubescent girls all for your own sexual gratification.
“It’s obvious that you will know what you were doing was seriously wrong. You had been unwilling or unable to control or stop this course of conduct and that aspect alone is so serious to merit a custodial sentence.”
Tripp, of HMP Hull, has also been made subject of an indefinite sexual harm prevention order and must be on the Sex Offendes’ Register for life.
Man, 34, pleads guilty to making nearly 5,000 indecent images of children
A Hull man has pleaded guilty to making nearly 5,000 indecent images of children.
Liam Tripp, 34, appeared before Hull Crown Court on Monday, charged with three counts of making indecent images of children and one count of possessing prohibited images of children.
The court heard that of the 4,467 indecent images discovered by police, 687 were category A – the most serious, 1,126 were category B, and 2,654 were category C.
Tripp, from Southcoates, Hull, pleaded guilty to all four counts.
His Honour Judge Tremberg warned Tripp he is facing a custodial sentence.
The judge said: “This is clearly a case which calls for a custodial sentence, but I want to be satisfied that the court has in clear form all of the information and you are sentenced for all you have done and no less.
“I am adjourning the case for more clarity for the court to proceed to sentencing accurately.”
Tripp will appear before the court again on February 22.
