A paedophile who secretly filmed a schoolgirl showering has been jailed for six-and-a-half years.
Scott Barker planted a phone in a cupboard in a bathroom cupboard and left it to record.
The 34-year-old, who lives with his parents on Partridge Crescent in Dewsbury, was sentenced today (Monday) after pleading guilty to two counts of taking indecent photographs of a child, two counts of voyeurism and six other child sex offences.
Prosecutor Rupert Doswell said Barker filmed the the girl, who cannot be identified, on a number of occasions.
Leeds Crown Court was told Barker was always secretive with his phone and would not let others use it.
The offences came to light when the teenager confided in a friend and an adult.
She told police: “I was shocked and it just made me feel sick because I thought, ‘How many other times has he done that?'”
In a statement, the victim said she is now paranoid about using the bathroom and staying at other people’s houses because she thinks other people are watching her, adding: “Now I fear men and I can’t trust anyone anymore.”
She said she hoped he would show remorse by entering guilty pleas at the first opportunity but he did not, adding: “I know he feels no remorse for the pain he has caused me.”
The young victim said she feels ‘disgusting, dirty and used’ and suffers from nightmares, depression and suicidal thoughts.
Barker was given 25 per cent credit for his guilty pleas.
He was made subject to an indefinite sexual harm prevention order and an indefinite restraining order, banning him from contacting the victim directly or indirectly.
Barker’s dad sat in the public gallery during the sentencing hearing.
