Man sentenced for making indecent image of child
A man has been sentenced after he admitted to making an indecent photograph of a child.
Anthony Whitehead, of Tickle Avenue, Parr indicated a guilty plea at Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Magistrates’ Court to the charge.
He committed the offence on March 11 last year.
Whitehead, 48, was given a community order and must do up to 30 days of rehabilitation activity.
He must also carry out 160 hours of unpaid work over the next 12 months.
Whitehead was also given a restraining order and ordered to pay a £90 surcharge and £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.
The court also issued an order under Section 143 of the Powers of Criminal Courts (Sentencing) Act 2000 to deprive Whitehead of his rights to a Samsung mobile device as the image was accessed and stored on it.
The 48-year-old is required to register with the police in accordance with the Sexual Offences Act 2003 for five years.
His guilty plea was taken into account upon sentencing.
