Hull loner hoarded sick images of girls as young as two

A pervert has avoided prison after he was caught with almost 50,000 sickening child abuse images and videos.

The disgusting collection, kept by Carl Walker, 59, of Greygarth Close, showed children as young as two-years-old being sexually abused.

Humberside Police were only able to charge Walker with possession of a total of 9,102 images and 132 videos.

Hull Crown Court heard on Wednesday that the full number of images “were not looked at because the cost of doing so would outweigh the advantage gained.”

Paul Genney told the court that Walker, who appeared to be sentenced for possession of the indecent images and possession of extreme pornography, also kept photographs showing bestiality.

Walker had been collecting them since 2014 – five years before his arrest in 2019. He was interviewed after his house was searched in May 2019, but denied any sexual interest in children.

Mr Genney told the court: “He said he had been looking for more weird things as ordinary pornography was no longer arousing him.

“He was interviewed again in July 2020 when the appliances had been examined and he was surprised at the volume of the material involved.”

The images that were able to be categorised showed there were 2,105 at category A – the worst kind – 2,176 at category B and 4,706 at category C. There were 68 videos at category A, 31 at category B and 22 at category C.

There were also 55 images of an extremely pornographic nature found and 18 videos.

Mr Genney said the children in the images and videos were as young as two: “Some showed them in pain and distress. This happened over a long period of time – over five years.

“There was evidence of systematic searching for young children and familial abuse. There is a large number of different victims.”

Recorder Woolfall spared him an immediate prison sentence, but made him the subject of a lengthy sexual harm prevention order.

Recorder Woolfall told Walker he would be the subject of a 10-year sexual harm prevention order which prohibits him from being in contact of any child under the age of 18.

He must also make any devices he has available on request of the police and he will now be on the Sex Offenders’ Register for ten years.

Walker has also been handed a 16 month sentence suspended for two years. If he offends in the next two years he could serve the rest of the sentence in custody.
