Paedophile had thousands of indecent images of children

A paedophile who has was caught with thousands of indecent images of children aged as young as five has been spared jailed.

Police executed a search warrant at Jaroslav Chudoba’s home on King Edward Street in Padgate in July last year.

Officers seized several devices from the 45-year-old’s property, and discovered a total of 8,130 indecent images of girls and boys aged between five and 16 stored on the hard drives.

This tally included 600 category A images depicting the most serious levels of abuse, while 430 were graded as category B and 7,100 were category C.

A further 30 extreme pornographic images were also found on the device, which he had used to search the internet for pictures of children being abused.

Chudoba was handed an eight-month imprisonment, suspended for 18 months, at Liverpool Crown Court

He had previously admitted three counts of making indecent images, possession of indecent images and possession of extreme pornographic images during an earlier hearing.

The Czech national, who has no previous convictions in the UK but was convicted of theft in his homeland in 2005, was also subjected to a 10-year sexual harm prevention order and told to sign the sex offenders’ register for the same period.

Sentencing, judge Stuart Driver said: “That means that you must commit no further offences and do what the probation officer tells you to do for 18 months.

“If you fail, you will be brought back to court and I will send you to prison.”

Forfeiture and destruction of the seized devices was also ordered, while Chudoba – who was assisted in court by an interpreter – was told to pay a victim surcharge and handed a 40-day rehabilitation activity requirement.
