Vile paedophile’s images stash showed ‘the most appalling crimes against young children’

A paedophile was caught with sickening abuse images showing “the most appalling crimes against young children”.

Disgraced Robert Orley, 29, was found to have the dreadful content spread across two mobile phones, with 202 images and three videos – 58 of which were in the most serious category A.

Jon Harley, prosecuting at Teesside Crown Court on Thursday, said the distressing content showed girls aged between 10 and 16 being sexually abused.

He told the sentencing hearing how police attended Orley’s address to arrest him as concerns were flagged about his internet usage.

The two phones were seized and police found 55 category A photos, three category A videos, 53 category B images and 94 category C.

Graphic detail about the nature of the images was given in court but is too distressing to publish.

The defendant was interviewed twice by the police but “he gave no comment on both occasions to all questions asked”, Mr Harley said.

He appeared to be sentenced for three counts of possessing indecent images of children after pleading guilty at the Magistrates’ Court.

Orley, of Lancaster Road, Hartlepool, had pleaded guilty as the first opportunity, has no previous convictions and had overcome a gambling addiction.

Judge Howard Crowson sentenced the defendant to eight months in jail suspended for 12 months.

He also made him the subject of a 10 year sexual harm prevention order and ordered he complete 25 rehabilitation activity requirement days.
