Pervert abused teenage family member
A pervert that repeatedly sexually abused a teenage family member has been jailed.
Married Steven Davies, 44 of Crewe appeared at Crown Court where he had previously pleaded guilty to:
Six counts of sexual activity with a female child family member aged 13 to 17 years old – with penetration – Offender over 18
Six counts of sexual activity with a female child family member aged 13 to 17 – No penetration – Offender over 18
Three counts of penetrative sex with a female relative – Offender over 18
The court was told that Davies had used violence and threats against his young niece in order to engage her in sexual activity.
The abuse was repeated and regular over a two year period beginning when the girl was 16-years-old.
The court heard that Davies’ wife supported him and maintained that ‘she would stand by her husband’.
In a emotional victim impact statement, the girl said she went through ‘absolute hell’ for the two years that she had endured the abuse. She explained how she spoke out but her claims were rejected and disbelieved by her uncles family, saying “No wonder victims never speak out”
The victim continued: “But, do not be scared to speak out. There are people that will believe you, even if you was brainwashed into thinking otherwise. Do not let it fester and eat away at you, like it did for me, for years”
The judge sentenced Davies to a total of eight years imprisonment and was told that he must register as a sex offender for life
