Man, 48, is jailed for eight years for rape

A man has been jailed for eight years after pleading guilty to rape

Denis Dunkley, 48, had pleaded guilty to a charge of of rape at an earlier hearing on March 16.

At Wolverhampton Crown Court last Thursday, prosecutor Richard McConaghy told the court that the offence had taken place in September last year.

Judge Jonathan Salmon sentenced Dunkley, of no fixed abode, to eight years in prison.

He was also ordered to sign the sex offenders register for life.

He will serve at least two thirds of his sentence before he is eligible for release.

Judge Salmon said: “You will serve two thirds of the sentence in custody then you will eligible for release on licence.

“If you were to breach the terms of your licence, or commit further offences, you may be returned to custody.”
