Paedophile jailed after grooming ‘two girls aged 12’ – who turned out to be the same adult decoy

A man was stung by the same adult decoy after speaking to ‘two girls aged 12’ online.

Joseph Graham, 64, began speaking to the two different accounts on website’s ‘Meet Me’ and ‘Scout’.

He greeted one in a message reading: “Hello sexy baby, fancy some fun”, Manchester Crown Court heard.

Despite being told multiple times that they were 12, Graham, of Oldham, began sending picture of his genitals and asking them to perform oral sex on him.

He also asked one of the ‘girls’ to send him a picture of them.

It wasn’t until the decoy passed on the screenshots of the chat logs onto another group, that Graham was brought to the police’s attention.

The group attended his house on Vicarage Street wherein they confronted him with their ‘findings’ over a 30 minute ‘name and shame’ which was streamed online.

Graham pleaded guilty to offences of attempting to engage in sexualised communication with a child and attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity.

Today (March 31) he was jailed for 30 months.

Prosecuting, Gavin Howie told the court that between February 26 2018 and March 3 2018, Graham used the two chat rooms to contact the ‘girls’.

“On ‘Scout’ he messaged the account saying: “Hello sexy baby, fancy some fun”, Mr Howie continued.

“She said she was 12.

“He said “Want to see my c***”, and she reiterated she was 12.

“He then sent her a picture of his penis and asked if she would perform sexual activity on him.”

As the conversation continued he sent a further picture of himself where he was wearing fishnets, which he said he liked wearing.

He went on to ask the ‘girl’ to send him a picture of herself and perform sexual acts on him.

The group called Dark Light attended his address on July 3 armed with the chat logs from the conversations, and called the police.

Officers arrived and arrested Graham and a number of items were seized.

He was interviewed the following day and claimed he was indulging in ‘role play’ and didn’t believe he was talking to a child.”

Sentencing him, Recorder Alex Menary said: “There is no real explanation for the massive delay in bringing these proceedings to court.

“The effect of the delay undermines public confidence in the criminal justice system.

“In your presentence report it’s clear you have struggled with alcohol addiction which led to the breakdown of your relationships.

“It’s clear you have established a socially isolated existence.”

Graham, of St Margarets Gardens, was jailed for 30 months, made subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order until further order and made to sign onto the Sex Offenders Register for life.
