‘Danger to children’ jailed after committing more than fifty child sex offences

A paedophile has been jailed after committing more than 50 child sex offences.

Stuart Eyles, 44, from Hyde, is described as ‘danger to children’ after preying on youngsters via social media.

The case was originally reported to GMP by the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit in 2018, after Eyles instigated conversation with an undercover officer posing as a 14-year-old girl on social media.

Eyles, believing he was talking to a child, began to sexualise the conversation, asking them to send indecent images.

Police seized a laptop, a camera, a mobile phone and a USB stick following a raid of Eyles’ home in March 2019.

He was arrested outside his workplace in Wythenshawe on suspicion of attempt sexual communication with a child where police confiscated another mobile phone.

Indecent images of children were found stored on the devices, as well as sexual communication with a child.

Eyles had sent indecent images of himself to a 14-year-girl and attempted to incite her to engage in sexual activity.

He was then arrested on suspicion of a number of sexual offences and later charged.

Eyles, of Market Street, Hyde, was jailed for two years and six months at Minshull Street Crown Court after pleading guilty to:

· One count of sexual communication with a child

· Five counts of attempted sexual communication with a child

· One count of causing a child to engage in sexual activity

· One count of attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity

· 21 counts of making indecent images of a child

· 30 counts of distributing indecent images of a child

He was also ordered to sign the sex offenders register for 10 years and issued with a 10 year sexual harm prevention order.
