Repulsive pervert asked underage girl to get naked
A pervert sent “graphic messages” to someone he believed was an underage girl, a court has heard.
Alisdair Williams, 45, was told by magistrates that his offending was “repugant and repulsive” but he avoided an immediate jail sentence because this was his first offence.
He appeared at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court where he admitted attempting to communicate with a person under 16 by asking the child to get naked and wanting to touch and make love to the child in Hilton between June 7 and 13.
The 45-year-old, of King Street, Alfreton, has been given a 26-week prison sentence which was suspended for two years after magistrates were told that he made more than one attempt to contact a child and that graphic messages were sent.
Magistrates added that the, “court would be failing in its public duty if it did not impose a custodial sentence given the repugnant and repulsive nature of this offending”.
His sentence was suspended because magistrates were told he has no previous convictions and there was a realistic prospect of rehabilitation.
He has also been ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £128 victim surcharge. He is required to sign the sexual offenders’ register for seven years.
