Paedophile offered to buy ‘girl’, 13, Jagermeister in sick texts

A paedophile told a ‘girl’ to wear high heels and said drinking Jagermeister ‘makes him horny’.

David Christie hounded the ’13-year-old’ for a picture of her in high heels and said he “wished they could meet up”.

The 40-year-old also offered to buy her Jagermeister and said he was sunbathing naked in his garden.

The shame-faced pervert ran from Liverpool Crown Court this morning in an effort to hide, but we can reveal the face behind the vile WhatsApp messages.

Derek Jones, prosecuting, explained that Christie began speaking with what he thought was a 13-year-old girl on UKChatYou, a social networking forum.

A police officer was pretending to be a schoolgirl called ‘Sophie’ who Christie began speaking with on April 21 last year.

Mr Jones explained he “immediately” asked if she was single and she responded by saying she was 13.

He said: “He told her he was 39 and asked for a picture of her. The conversation turned to him saying words to the effect of ‘bet u look amazing in high heels’.”

After Christie gave the undercover police officer his number they began texting on WhatsApp where he “again asked to see a picture of her in high heels” and asked “if she liked older boys”.

Mr Jones said: “She again reminded him she was 13 and he then asked her ‘When was the last time you had sex’.”

Among his sickening and sexually suggestive messages, he told her he would “warm her up” after she said she was cold adding “my hands might wonder [sic] tho xxx”.

Christie also talked about buying Jaegermeister for her and said “drinking got him horny”.

Mr Jones explained on April 24 Christie wrote “horny again” and said he “wished they could meet up”.

On May 11 Christie messaged the girl again and “talked about sunbathing naked in his garden”.

Mr Jones added that while there was discussion about meeting the girl there was “no serious effort” such as an exchange of addresses.

Christie was arrested at his Claughton home on June 10 last year and when interviewed claimed his phone was second hand and he had only just bought it.

In a second interview he admitted the offences but denied there was a sexual motivation.

Christie has previous convictions for dissimilar offences, the court heard.

Christie, of Park Road North, Claughton, Wirral, but originally from Liverpool, admitted four counts of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child.

Judge Thomas Teague, QC, sentencing, said he believed there was “some prospect of rehabilitation” despite Christie’s history of some poor compliance with court orders.

Judge Teague said the poor compliance “isn’t such as to undermine the court’s confidence that you can be rehabilitated yourself with the assistance of the probation service”.

Christie was given a 27 week sentence suspended for 18 months and must complete 15 Rehabilitation Activity Requirements.

He was also ordered to complete the Horizon Programme, which is available for men who have committed a sexual offence.

A Sexual Harm Prevention Order was imposed for 10 years and Christie must sign the Sex Offenders Register for the same period.

The judge added it was “far better in the interests of the public and protecting under age girls that you should undergo this Horizon Programme”.
