Pervert dad asked ‘girl’, 13, about her body hair in sick sexual chats

A dad-of-three asked a 13-year-old girl about her body hair in sick sexual chats.

Mark Jones discussed meeting up for “sexual purposes” with a child he thought was 30 years younger than him.

But the 43-year-old was actually talking to an undercover police officer who was posing as “Izzy” on a dating website.

Liverpool Crown Court heard Jones, then of Netherton, Merseyside, started talking to her on social network site Fast Flirting on November 13, 2020.

Rebecca Smith, prosecuting, said Jones, using the profile name Jay33, asked what Izzy’s Facebook account was and her age.

He was told she was 13 and from Nottinghamshire, but enquired what she looked like, if she wanted to be friends, and if he was too old for her.

Jones asked for her phone number but said he wouldn’t text all the time in case they got in trouble, before he turned the topic of conversation to sex in WhatsApp chats.

Ms Smith said he asked about her body hair and whether she had a boyfriend, and when Izzy said she had an ex-boyfriend Jones asked whether they’d had “any action”.

He asked what sexual experience she had, what size her breasts were and what her mum would think about their chats and whether she would contact the police.

The court heard Jones said they could never meet up, in case they both got in trouble, but then asked if they did meet up, what she “would let him do to her”.

He said: “If we do anything, I will wear a condom if it goes that far.”

Police arrested Jones at his home on December 7, seized his phone and recovered the WhatsApp chat.

Jones, now of Bootle, admitted attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child.

Recorder Ian Unsworth, QC, ordered Jones to sign on the Sex Offenders Register and comply with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for seven years.

The judge said “from the very outset” Jones thought he was talking to a 13-year-old, and questioned her “about her body”, personal appearance and “sex life”.
