Evil pensioner likely to die in prison after he’s jailed for 24 years
A vile paedophile could die in prison after being found guilty of 19 sexual offences against three young children.
John Hewitt, 74, carried out his sick reign of terror on three children during the 1980s in Hull and Hessle.
John Hewitt, of Preston, near Hull, was found guilty at Grimsby Crown Court on Tuesday of eight counts of rape, nine counts of indecent assault and two counts of indecency with a child after trial. He was jailed for a total of 24 years.
The three children involved were aged between 13-16 years at the time of the offences.
On passing sentence Judge Mark Bury told Hewitt the offender has shown no sympathy throughout the trial and that it had taken 40 years “for his chickens to come home to roost”.
Showing little sympathy for Hewitt, Judge Bury added: “If you are to die in prison serving this sentence then so be it.”
