Paedophile found with sick video of drugged child being sexually abused while asleep

A paedophile caught with thousands of indecent images has avoided being locked up despite watching a video of drugged child being sexually abused.

Sick James Pappas, 39, appeared at Sheffield Crown Court after admitting his guilt over the discovery of 8,417 indecent images on his phones and hard drive.

South Yorkshire Police found that 2,828 of those images were of category A – the worst kind.

A further 12 prohibited images were found and 2,456 category B images and 3,133 category C.

Prosecutor Robert Fitt told the court that investigators found the images and videos on seven different devices that were seized as part of the probe into Pappas.

He was arrested in November 2018 and he answered no comment when he was interviewed by officers.

Mr Fitt said that the children in the huge sum of pictures and videos discovered were aged between four and 12 and added that there are a large number of different children depicted.

Judge Graham Reeds QC sentenced Pappas, of Boston Road, Horncastle, to nine months in prison, but suspended that sentence for a period of two years.

He was also made the subject of a sexual harm prevention order for 10 years.
