Northampton man jailed after admitting child sex abuse
A Northampton man has been jailed for two years after admitting to child sex offences.
Bradley Jones, aged 23, appeared before Northampton Crown Court for sentencing earlier this month.
The court heard he befriended his victim, then aged just 12, and began to inappropriately and sexually touch her against her will.
After instructing his victim not to tell anyone of his repeated abuse of her, it took the girl two years to pluck up the courage to reveal what had been happening to her, leading to a report to Northamptonshire Police
Although at initial court hearings Jones had denied the offences, on June 15 this year he finally entered guilty pleas to four counts of sexual assault on a child under 13.
At his sentencing hearing on July 20, Jones, formerly of Balmoral Road, Kingsthorpe, was sentenced to a total of 25 months’ imprisonment.
Two further charges, of sexual assault of a child under 13, and sexual activity with a child, will lie on file.
Jones was also made subject to a 10-year sexual harm prevention order, intended to prevent him from reoffending in the future.
He will also be placed on the Sex Offenders Register for 10 years.
