Peterlee man who claimed cyber attack put thousands of indecent images on computer jailed

A County Durham man who told police he was “cyber attacked” after officers found thousands of indecent images of children on his computer has been jailed.

Officers discovered Philip Nadin from Peterlee had thousands of indecent images of children and more than 400 videos on his computer.

But although Nadin told police he would “take the rap” he denied possessing the material while in an interview with officers.

He suggested that a “cyber attack” could be the reason for the material on his computer.

After previously pleading not guilty to three counts of making indecent images of children, the 68-year-old changed his plea to guilty and was sentenced at Durham Crown Court on July 27.

Nadin was subsequently handed a 17-month custodial sentence by the judge.
