Rotherham paedophile arrested in front of colleague over sick collection of child abuse videos

A sick paedophile who searched the internet for tips to rape children faced the embarrassment of being arrested at work as officers searched his Rotherham home.

Mark Potts’s Maltby home was raided on June 27, 2019, while he was working and detectives seized two external hard drives and a laptop computer.

They found 17 videos of child abuse – 11 of which involved children as young as three years old – and 1,036 still images, Sheffield Crown Court heard.

They also found one extreme pornographic image involving a dog on the 52-year-old’s electronic devices.

During an interview with police he admitted searching for pictures of young boys but said “no way” when he was asked about a search term relating to methods to rape children.

He admitted four counts of making indecent images and one count of possessing an extreme pornographic image.

Judge Peter Kelson handed him an eight-month prison sentence, but suspended it for two years.
