Man jailed for Stoke sexual assault

A 34-year-old man from Scotland has been jailed after carrying out a “distressing” sexual assault in Stoke-on-Trent.

Pardeep Attwal, of Irvine, Ayrshire, faces two years and four months’ behind bars after being convicted of the attack following a trial at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.

He was placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for ten years.

Attwal, who had been on a work visit to Stoke and had been staying at a nearby hotel, approached his victim as they walked along Glebe Street shortly before 10pm on Thursday 15 October 2020.

He asked his victim for assistance before carrying out his assault, kissing and touching them inappropriately.
